Markets Open On Higher Note On Thursday

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) on Thursday opened on a positive note during the morning session of the trade.

 

The Sensex of the BSE after opening at 33,206.99 points and touched a high of 33,224.10 points and a low of 33,107.32 points.

 

On Wednesday, the Sensex closed at 33,136.18 points.

 

The Sensex is trading at 33,191.88 points up by 55.70 points or 0.17 per cent.

 

On the other hand, the broader 51-scrip Nifty at National Stock Exchange (NSE) opened at 10,167.50 points after closing at 10,155.25 points.

 

The Nifty is trading at 10,179.60 points in the morning.

Commodity Tips:- Crude Oil Futures Settle Near 3-Year Highs

Crude oil futures to their highest since November 2014, picking up 2.4% for the week, as rising worries over the economic crisis in Venezuela and possible new sanctions against Iran increased the potential for tighter global crude supplies and sent prices back to their highest settlement since late 2014. Venezuela and Iran are both members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries. An OPEC survey conducted by S&P Global Platts showed Friday that the group’s crude production in April fell for a third straight month to a one-year low. It produced 32 million barrels a day last month, down 140,000 barrels a day from March, with the survey attributing the drop to Caracas falling output.    Benchmark crude oil futures for June delivery jumped by $1.29 or 1.90 percent to settle at $69.72 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
